Lena Jackson is an underground hip-hop artist and poet from Raleigh, NC. Primarily born and raised in a poverty-stricken area, Lena grew up with music as her focal point of comfort, with writing as her therapy. Jackson started penning poetry as a child, but later became intrigued by cipher sessions she would see in school cafeterias in her early teens. She eventually learned to interchange poetry stanzas for rap bars and found pleasure in both spoken word and cipher rapping. Her influences include Nas, MC Lyte, Outkast, Missy Elliot, and Bone Thugs & Harmony.
 
Lena's goal with her upcoming "Darkness Brim" [EP] is to display her verbal skill-set on darker topics not typically discussed in mainstream hip-hop, issues such as poverty, domestic violence, and mental illness. “End Of The Tunnel” is a laid-back hip-hop sanguine of despair and hope, laced with intense bars about fear and heartbreak, featuring Maestra. She delivers lyrics and mellifluous melodies, while production is handled by P.A.T Junior.
