Nothing says summer like laying poolside with a cold beverage and some hot tunes. If you haven’t quite found your 2019 summer jam yet, it’s not too late. Tune in to the top Hip Hop and R&B radio stations in the U.S. and get your groove on!  This list was compiled based on Twitter followers and may change over time. 
1. WQHT-FM – New York, New York – 1,029,572
WQHT-FM is an urban contemporary station in New York City and primarily plays hip hop-leaning urban contemporary hits and occasionally a pop-leaning rhythmic title. The station’s tagline is "HOT 97, Where Hip Hop Lives."
 
2. WWPR-FM – New York, New York – 443,587
Better known by its branding Power 105.1, WWPR-FM is an urban contemporary radio station licensed to New York City. It is owned by iHeartMedia and broadcasts the entire New York City metro area.
 
3. KPWR-FM – Los Angeles, California – 327,064
KPWR-FM is a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California, broadcasting to the Greater Los Angeles. The station's tagline is "Power 106" and its slogan is "Where Hip-Hop Lives." The station airs locally at 105.9 FM.
 
4. KBXX-FM – Houston, Texas – 182,190
KBXX-FM is Houston's station for interactive hip-hop and R&B.  It is owned by Urban One as part of the three-station cluster with KMJQ Houston and KROI Seabrook.
 
5. WHTA-FM – Atlanta, Georgia – 177,473
WHTA-FM is a commercial station in Atlanta owned by Urban One, Inc. Better known as "Hot 107.9", it has plays primarily hip-hop and rap.
 
6. WVEE-FM – Atlanta, Georgia – 165,884
WVEE-FM is a commercial station owned by Entercom Communications Corp. and broadcasts to the Atlanta area at 103.3 FM. WVEE-FM's tagline is "V-103" and their slogan is "The People's Station." The station airs newscasts at the top of every hour.
 
7. KYLD-FM – San Francisco, California – 110,862
KYLD-FM broadcasts to the San Francisco area at 94.9 FM and is best known by its tagline "Wild 94.9." The station's slogan is "The Bay's #1 Hit Music Station!" and newscasts air at various times throughout the day.
 
8. WKYS-FM – Washington, D.C. – 88,537
WKYS-FM is a commercial radio station owned by Urban One, Inc. It offers urban contemporary music including hip-hop, rap, and top hits. The station airs locally at 93.9 FM and their slogan is "Interactive Hip Hop and R&B.”
 
9. WJMH-FM – Greensboro, North Carolina – 88,156
WJMH-FM is a commercial station owned by Entercom Communications Corp. It broadcasts to the Greensboro, NC area at 102.1 FM under the slogan “The Hip Hop Station."
 
10. KMEL-FM – San Francisco, California – 77,990
KMEL-FM is a commercial station owned by iHeartMedia Inc. and is more commonly referred to as 106 KMEL. The station positions itself as "San Francisco's Home for Hip Hop and R&B."
